Greyhound needs a home

Jila the greyhound with Erika and Isabell at Castlemaine RSPCA
Castlemaine RSPCA currently has lots of beautiful animals looking for a home.
These include Jila, a beautiful black greyhound-cross, who is 17 months old. Jila has been microchipped, vaccinated and desexed. If you can give her a home, call the shelter on 5472 5277.
Shelter manager Geoff Hall reminded people who were looking after their neighbour's pets over the festive season to ensure they had the necessary details close at hand in case the animal goes missing.
"If people take on the responsibility of looking after someone else's pet, they need to ensure the animal is microchipped, tagged and which vet to call if they need medical attention," Mr Hall said.
"It is also important to be able to contact the owner - either by mobile phone or on a landline number - in case anything goes wrong with the pet."
The shelter will be open normal hours outside of the public holidays and on Christmas Day and New Year's Day from 10am until noon. Castlemaine RSPCA staff and volunteers wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
