Musician and local radio announcer Martin Myles moved to Castlemaine about seven months ago, the day after he and his bride, Laura, returned from a five-month honeymoon in Europe.
Five months? That's some honeymoon!
"Yes it was for five months, and it's exactly what we planned - it was amazing!" he said.
Before heading overseas Martin completed a PBS radio announcer's course in Melbourne with the dream of one day having a show on the airwaves.
That dream came true, soon after he and Laura moved to Castlemaine when he started his show called The Kitchen Sink (and you guessed it - the show is choc-o-bloc with all kinds of music) on Castlemaine radio station WMA fm.
"I claim to cover all of the genres - everything from classical to heavy metal - if you listen long enough you will probably hear something that you enjoy.
"I have had a fair bit of feedback on the show and I seem to have developed a little bit of a following.
"One thing I do on the show is a music quiz, sponsored by the Red Hill Hotel. I play a piece of music and invite people to ring in and name the original performer of that piece of music.
"We have actually had a winner every week that it has been on."
The talented songwriter/musician will be releasing his second album, Thelauras - "there are a lot of songs about Laura on there" - in the near future.
In the meantime tune into The Kitchen Sink on WMA fm 107.5 from 9pm until midnight every Friday night.
